LIGURIAN SEA-HIGHWAYS (Liguria, 2043)
“We will build soon new infrastructures to drive along the Ligurian highways”. That’s what many politicians and mobility experts used to say to solve the dramatic situation of the crumbling highways of Liguria. After 2020 many architectural and engineering offices started making proposals to create a new highway at the side of the existing one. However, the protests of the “NO GALLERIES” movement, very active in the fight against new tunnels in a landscape which is full of asbestos, messed up the political situation. In that context, another group of engineers, not particularly sensitive to the ecological issue, came up with a new idea: “why can’t we build over the sea?”.
